about

This song was written many years ago, when reading through old letters. Time can prove so many promises to be just empty words. This can easily make us bitter and twisted or it can be a lesson to teach us the weight of our own words in the future. I like the latter.

lyrics

Don’t write me off, I could be what u want and what you need

I might not be yet, but I’m on my way I’m learning more each
day by day my heart won’t change,
I’ll be standing here at the end

I counted in your letters all the times that you said forever

Those hundred and five beautiful lies I don’t need anymore

You said ‘forever’ then changed like the weather

You said ‘forever’ but changed like the weather

Don’t count me out if it seems like rain

I'm hoping that the winds will change

And though storms arrive true love never dies

and now I know that day by day I saw you change,

now you’re not here at the end

I counted in your letters all the times that you said forever

Those hundred and five beautiful lies I wish I never heard

You said ‘forever’ but changed like the weather

You said ‘forever’ but changed like the weather

The only thing I needed from you

was for your words to be true

I counted in your letters

all the times that you said forever
and those hundred and five beautiful lies I don’t need anymore

you said ‘forever’ then changed like the weather
I would have loved you forever, for worse or for better
